I've recently been ripping my CD's to 320kbps MP3 files and the most suggested and popular software for this is NCH's Express Rip. All sources said it was free for non-commercial use, so I went to NCH's website, they also said it was free for personal use. I downloaded it, everything worked fine, it can rip to many codecs with plenty of cusomization, it's really great! Then about five CD's in, I open the software and get a prompt saying I've been using a demo (the word 'demo' has not appeared once through my entire use of this software up to this point, even the installer file didn't have demo in the name or anything), and that I could either pay $40 or continue using the free version 'with some features restricted'.

Those features being. Ripping CD's. I absolutely despise companies that pull shit like this, doing everything they can to hide the fact that the software isn't actually free so they can pull the rug out from under you and charge you up the ass. So I'd like to hold NCH to their word:) But I'm not sure how.

The version of the software I need to upgrade to is 'Express Rip Power Edition' because it's the one that can access databases and all that. I found 2 videos on youtube for cracking Express Rip that were quite clearly scams. I wondered if there's any legit way of cracking this and other NCH softwares that is known in the piracy community. I doubt a keygen would work too great without editing my hosts file, which I can totally do if I need to. Is there, like, a well-known little EXE file that can crack it for me, or some.dll file to replace in the system folder? Or perhaps a cracked installer for the program? I really do like this software and would like to continue using it.

And, in case you weren't aware, as most audiophiles tend to be, a well-encoded 320kbps MP3 file is going to sound indistinguishable from a FLAC if you're listening to it on some earbuds from your music player. The difference will only be audible on the higher end of audio equipment.
